Conclusions

• Since 2002, shipments of boxes made with recyclable replacements for wax treatments have increased 105% (from 1,309,845 MSF to 2,683,262 MSF.)
• Recyclable treated boxes now make up 13.9% of all box shipments treated for water and moisture resistance.
• Progress has been made in replacing all types of wax treated boxes(cascaded, impregnated, curtain-coated) with recyclable treated boxes.
• 97% of the recyclable treated boxes are reported as having been made with materials that passed the voluntary standard protocol.
• Several member companies participating in this survey reported they expect significant progress in the use of recyclable treatments in 2009, based on shipments made and trials in process.
